Bull Terriers alias Pit Bulls

Recently I was at my friends’ house and he had a pit bull.  i thought to myself this poor breed of dog is so maligned with bad behavior and labeled as a vicious dog.  He was friendly, rolled over on his belly in complete submission and they also have a cat that is his companion- they both get along together with the children that live in the house.  This is why I decided to comment on this issue.  I consider any animal that is born is as innocent as a newborn child.  They are not born with tendencies to hate, kill or main other creatures that they encounter.  These are traits that are instilled in the animals we adopt as pets by our own very actions.  If you treat an animal with compassion and love you will receive them back.  But if you treat an animal with abuse and brutality they will react in the negative manner that you instilled in them!!!

I thoroughly believe that this breed is the most mislabeled breed that is currently out there.  I truly feel sorry for all of them that are euthanized on a daily basis because they wind up in shelters that are KILL SHELTERS.  I also applaud the persons who work with them, on a daily basis, to rehabilitate them.

I am retired after working as an industrial mechanic for most of my work career. I am married have had animals friends almost my whole life. This project that I have taken on has given me more satisfaction than my whole work career. So far over 600 beds and 60 cat bunks or towers have been made and donated to various shelters. Some new items were dog bunk beds and cat hammocks. I sleep at night knowing that in a small way we have made a difference in the life of the animals who have received our beds. We have sent beds to Nebraska, Texas, State of Washington and New Jersey. We have helped Eagle Scouts in their projects and in turn they have helped us.
